Anjos Urban Palace is the latest project by EastBanc Portugal led by architect Eduardo Souto de Moura. Located in Príncipe Real, this 19th-century mansion has a total area of 3,250 m², distributed between retail, restaurant and office spaces.
By carrying out a thorough and independent international study, BREEAM ( Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Method ) assesses the performance of buildings in terms of their environmental and social sustainability, namely, the consumption of energy and water resources, management of materials and waste, accessibility of the building or the health and well-being of teams.
Anjos Urban Palace becomes the first retail building and one of the first office buildings in Portugal to receive the “ Excellent ” distinction in Design Stage awarded by the Building Research Establishment (BRE). This certification comes after the implementation of environmentally and socially sustainable construction measures and practices, namely, the use of certified materials; the increase in the capacity of the centralized management system, allowing the reduction and real-time control of the building’s consumption and the reduction of carbon emissions; the creation of a bicycle park; the implementation of a pollution control plan; or the application of construction practices focused on the well-being of teams.
This emblematic building located in Praça do Príncipe Real will be transformed into a multifunctional space filled with natural light and overlooking the city of Lisbon, the Tagus River and the Botanical and Príncipe Real Gardens.
